Ice Block Puzzle
===== CHRISTMAS SALE! 50% Off - Only 50 Cents! =====
I am having a Christmas sale now! If you or someone you know likes puzzles, get them this as a nice treat for the holidays!
It is a puzzle game based off of the sliding ice block puzzles from various Zelda games - but a whole game full of them! Over 50 levels. I put my heart into it, and I hope you enjoy.
--------
Push the block across the ice to reach the goal!
50+ levels of unique, classic puzzle action inspired by the NES and a certain green-clad hero. Estimated 2 to 5 hours of gameplay or more depending on your skill.
See the tutorial, trailer, and screenshots for a basic gist of the game and controls, or download the free demo which has the first 3 levels and 1 boss battle so you can see how the game feels (don't worry, the puzzles get much harder in later levels).
--------
[HTML5 Browser Support has been fixed! If you have purchased the game and wish to play the full version through the browser on itch.io, you must use the link and password provided after purchase in the download instructions to be redirected to a hidden version of this page. The "external key" approach didn't work. This is a limitation of itch.io - I'm sorry for the inconvenience!]
As of version 2.0, all bugs should be fixed. If all goes well, a Steam version and a Mac version will be coming soon.
If enough interest is shown, I may make the Gamemaker files available along with the game so that people can make their own levels - alas, I am not yet knowledgable enough to implement a built-in level-sharing system, but I'll see what I can do.

Hey, nice game my friend, I love the adorable and DOS-like graphics, and there were some pretty interesting puzzles in there. Level 33 (I'm pretty sure) stumped me the most. I liked that in some of the rooms, there were a lot of options for what to do next, making it harder to just smash blocks until it works. The ability to have blocks bounce off a tile, and thus have multiple blocks moving and potentially obstructing each other, was a nice variation. I felt that this idea could have been expanded with tiles that turn the block 90 degrees.
The progression of puzzles is pretty good, although there were some that just seemed out of place (i.e. too easy for the slot they were in). I'm pretty sure #24 and 25 were exactly the same except for one tile? The graphics were fine but could use some variation (for an ice game there was an awful lot of decorative lava :P). Even just a recolor here and there would go a long way. I did find a few of the puzzles to be slightly tedious, from either repeating tasks or just having a lot of space vs the slow movement speed... it would be nice to have a game speed option! The giant map with a bunch of easy puzzles in a row was my least favorite, it just took a long time and was too easy. But anyway the overall game was quite fun!
Thank you for playing, and for your feedback!
Those are all very good points. Most of those things are being worked on right now for the v2.1 update, but some I hadn't considered. Always good to have a fresh pair of eyes.
Indeed, the game could definitely use some aesthetic variation, but my primary concern at first was just to make a working game. I plan to add particle-effect-trails to the blocks as they move/collide, and it might be nice to change the palette of the rooms every ten levels. The lava is a purposeful juxtaposition to the ice - though it is never stated in the game, the character is meant to be traversing the "Puzzle Volcano." Now that I think about it, I don't know where that idea came from. Playing your game made me think I should experiment with the interplay of ice and fire a bit more in future updates.
Good point about walking speed - I will add a "toggle run" option.
I had planned a mechanic that caused blocks to turn 90 degrees, but somehow that fell by the wayside during my chaotic workflow.
As for the out-of-place easy levels... yeah, I'm not sure why I never moved those earlier. And level 25 and 26, I had initially thought were slightly different solutions, but upon further testing I realized that they were, indeed, identical except for the block colors switching. Oops! I will definitely add reordering and quality control to the v2.1 to-do list. That last level was poorly conceived as a vain attempt to place my little puzzle guy among the pantheon of video game legends, as well as startle the player with the sudden immensity of the room - but it did end up being mostly tedious and easy. It needs reworked, for sure.
Oh, and I forget if I mentioned this, but I sent you 2 free keys on FaceBook to share with whomever you please, as thanks for your generous donation.
Thanks again, and stay tuned - v2.1 will add more levels for no extra charge (Christmas-themed!).

Dispite you don't know me is oke, but at least, I'm very friendly
and enjoyed the game to help you improve.
as for all the people trying the demo, the start is quite easy,
the real challenge really begins after you reach 25+ where
you need to think to go through the levels, but I tell you this,
you wont regret it.
I had some hard trouble figure out some of those annoying
levels, but if you like the demo, the price is worth it :)
The first person of the game is even a bit harder while you push
the blocks, but the view of the score on the wall is really neat.
to the Dev @AllenMLewis17 that was helpful and quick answer
on fixing the bugs and game breaking part to throw out a fix,
otherwise, the level couldn't be completed.
Thank you for the amazing game and the fixes you made :)
